The video was filmed at the Svetoteni exhibition at the Bourse de Commerce, home to the Parisian gallery Pinault Collection.
More precisely, it was shot from the window of a darkened room displaying works by the Romanian painter Victor Man. The exhibition hall dedicated to this artist is designed in somber tones, with every corner of the space sparingly lit.
Only his paintings are illuminated. They contain images of young women who have encountered death and the otherworldly. Only in a few paintings do we see something different — for example, a little red monkey against a red background.
The windows facing the courtyard are covered with a special film, which becomes a kind of filter for this video: through it, the green trees take on the pink color of blooming almond trees.
The bright trees both conceal and reveal passers-by of different genders and ages. The footage is accompanied by the sound of footsteps, conversations, and other noises made by visitors to the exhibition.
